This work formed volume two of the famous Tantrik Texts series edited and published by Arthur Avalon (Sir John Woodroffe). The volume comprises of the sixth chapter of Purnananda Svami’s Shritattvachintamani, a voluminous Tantrik treatise which is now lost. The work contains a description of the six centres, the Muladhara, Svadishthana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddha, and Ajna Chakras or Lotuses (padma) a knowledge which is essential for the understanding of the Yoga method dealt with in the Tantras. With the passage of Kundalini from the Muladhara t Sahasrara piercing on her way thither the six charkas – a Tantrika Yoga process known as Shat-chakra-bheda or as some call it Bhutashuddhi.
Added to this work is a commentary written by Kali-charana, with added notes by the Commentator Shangakara. It also contains the explanations of Vishvanatha. All three commentaries were published for the first time in this book.
