Influence of the Press

The book is an attempt to get at the essential facts about the condition, influence and function of the press in the modern world. The book examines the function that is fulfilled by the Press at all times, and particularly the part it plays in modern life. The book does not present a history of the Press but looks at discovering its function as revealed by history and the sort of obstacles which confront it.

The author examines the influences inside and outside the ranks of journalism which make the Press what it is and hinder it from being what it might be.
