Songs of Kabir

Poet Kabir is one of the most interesting personalities of Indian mysticism. His songs, often written with a missionary intention are spontaneous expressions of his live and his vision and make an immortal appeal to the heart.
In his poems a wide range of mystical emotion is brought into play: from the loftiest abstractions, the most other worldly passion for infinite, to the most intimate and personal realization of God, expressed in homely metaphors and popular Hindi, his poems are deliberately addressed to the common people rather than to the professionally religious class.
