His writing not only does him credit but act as an example of an independent eye looking at the complexities and management of change through a period of economic and political influence on a Higher Education system which had largely gone unchanged for a period until the early 1960’s when the Robbins Report inflamed the thinking and purpose of Higher Education in the United Kingdom. It was not however, until 1970’s that political intervention significantly influenced the Higher Education system which have been subject to economic and irrational reductions which have in turn, led the universities to like for alternative sources of funding and processes of management to cope with the ever declining and scarce resource availability.”
