The American Library Association, appointed a Commission on the Library and Adult Education, “to study the adult education movement, and the work of libraries for adults and for older boys and girls out of school, and to report its findings and recommendations to the A. L. A. Council.”
In this volume, which contains the completed results of its studies, the Commission hopes that librarians will find methods and suggestions worthy of adoption or trial in their library practice. While this report is intended primarily for librarians and others responsible for, or interested in, libraries, it is hoped that it will be found of value also to those general readers who are interested in adult education.
