Theodore Goldstucker, a contemporary of Sir William Jones came to India with a fair knowledge of Sanskrit and Oriental languages and literature. The two volumes presented here contains his assertions on different aspects of Indological subjects. The volumes, when first published in England during the last century, drew the attention of a very large number of Indologists and scholars interested in Indian studies and Goldstucker became famous in the learned galaxy of scholar.
Goldstucker, in these volumes has discussed in details, The Vedas, Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Lamaism, Manu, Mimansa, Panini, Patanjali, Puranas, Sankara, Tantara, Upanishadas, Vedanata and Yoga alongwith a detailed commentary on various Indological topics.
These two volumes are going to fill the void created by the non-availability of this long out of print work and it is hoped that the work shall be an asset for the Indologists, Historians, Institutions and others interested in the field.
