Indian Paintings Under the Mughals

The author has set forth in his “Prolyomena”, the aims, principles and methods of his treatment of the subject. Not only extensive study of the old sites of antiquarian interest were undertaken by the author but new sites and new images were also explored. To compare and to verify the details presented by the large variety of Brahmanic Images, the author has tried to exhaust all available references in early Sanskrit works, Vedic, Exegetical, Pauranic and Tantric, bearing upon the deceptions and explanations of Divine Representation.
